January Goal Update

 

January has been an exciting month for us already as we have seen God provide towards our goal of raising $1500 of new monthly support by the end of the month. As a reminder, this amount will cover our housing and utilities cost while we are in Germany.

Already God has raised up 3 new individuals/ families to commit a monthly financial amount. We have also been blessed by our sending church making a preliminary decision about their future financial commitment (yet to be approved by our congregation.)

We are grateful to report that God has provided $833 of additional monthly support since January 1st. With 12 days left in January, we are humbly asking God to provide the remaining $667 of additional monthly support. Would you pray to find out if God would like you to be one of the individuals/ families to give towards this amount?!

We are full of excitement to leave for Germany by the end of this summer and are so thankful for your support of God's work among the young people of Leipzig. May He bless you for your sacrificial and faithful support commitment. (Philippians 4:17-19)

(By the way, we are only one monthly financial supporter away from being 25% funded overall - $7 to be exact. Praise God for His faithfulness!)

More Than a Place to Live

Do any of you have strange "hobbies"? Well, I (Ellen) have to confess to one: I like looking at apartment listings online, just for fun. I have been looking at apartments in Leipzig for a while - first for budget research and later just because I get a kick out of looking at floor plans. (Yes, I did want to be an architect for a while until God guided me another way.)

Our first apartment in Germany will be more than just our home. It will also be our office and a meeting space for the whole Josiah Venture Germany team. In the future, we may even get a chance to house an intern or missions trip visitor. And as even now, we will be using this space to minister to young people in the church.


The cost for rent and utilities for this type of apartment in Leipzig will be about $1500 (or 1150 Euros). That is about 18% of our monthly budget. That is our support raising goal this months!

To raise this amount, we will need 30 people to donate $50 a month or 15 people giving $100 a month. Would you consider being one of these supporters?
